Traveling along the extensive Mahakam River system is a fascinating adventure. Riverboats slide unobtrusively through heavily silt-laden waters, the trip to Tanjung lsuy over the Mahakam River is long but interesting passing floating villages and forest scenery.
Day 01: Arrival Balikpapan to LoaJanan
Include: Dinner and Accommodation onboard houseboat.
Upon arrival at Sepinggan airport of Balikpapan (required to have morning arrival) we will provide a meeting service and then drive to Loajanan for boarding the houseboat for the Mahakam river cruise.
Day 02: Muara Muntai to Lekak Kidau
Include: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Accommodation onboard houseboat.
After breakfast, the onboard stop at Muara Muntai for observing the way the people live in the wooden village, and continue the trip by motorized canoe over Jempang Lake. On arrival at Tanjung Isuy welcome ceremony will be performed by the Dayak Banuaq tribe in front of their long house then return to the house boat cruise down for Lekak Kidau.
Day 03: Lekak Kidau to Balikpapan
Include: Breakfast on-board houseboat, Lunch and Dinner at Local Restaurant, and Accommodation in Balikpapan.
After breakfast onboard stop at Lekak Kidau Village for observing the way of the people's life of the Kenyah Dayak tribe, then return to Tenggarong for observing the royal Collection of the Kutai Kingdom in the Museum. (It was a former royal palace). The program will be returning down the river for Loajanan, after lunch proceeding to Balikpapan for your accommodation.
Day 04: Balikpapan Departure
Include: Breakfast at the Hotel.
The morning will be free at your own leisure until the due time for departure we will provide a transfer to the airport for flight departure to other onward destinations.
