Package Itinerary

The excitement of this package is visiting Baliem Valley where time seems to be turning back to years ago. The people still live in the traditional way, leaving in a traditional hut and some men still wearing ‘Koteka’ (penis gourd). This is a soft adventure package besides our guests for overnight will be staying in a hotel in some places will be staying in a traditional house or local Villagers' house and for having meals besides at the restaurants in some places will also have meals being cooked by the locals.

Day 01: Arrive Jayapura

Include Dinner at a local restaurant, and Accommodation in Jayapura.

Upon arrival at Sentani airport of Jayapura, we will provide meeting service and then transfer to Hotel. The remaining day is free at your own leisure.

Day 02: Jayapura – Wamena - Yokosimo - Hitugi

Include: Breakfast at Hotel, Lunch, and Dinner provided en-route, and Accommodation at village house or tent.

Transfer to Sentani airport for your departure to Wamena. Upon arrival at Wamena airport, transfer to hotel. Drive 30 minutes to Sogokmo where the trekking begins with the guide, cook, and porters. Walk and cross the metal suspension bridge on Baliem River near Sogokmo then hike 5 hours through the beautiful country side and Dani villages to Hitugi.

Day 03: Hitugi-Sykosimo

Include: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided en-route, and Accommodation at villages house or tent.

From Hitugi village, we hike 1,5 hours down to Mugi river and cross the small traditional rope bridge near a small waterfall. From the waterfall, we still hike for 30 minutes and will arrive in the village of Syokosimo for accommodation at local Villagers' house. After lunch in the village, we hike to Dani compounds which lie on the top of the hill to experience Dani's daily life.

Day 04: Syokosimo – Userem - Ibiroma

Include: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided en-route, and Accommodation at village house or tent.

Today we hike up and down, the trail is steep and could be very sleeper if it is raining. The first 2 hours hike to the village of Userem is through the steep sweet potato garden near the Baliem River, but the scenery is spectacular. In Userem village, we cross another metal suspension bridge on the Mugi River, and after a 30-minute walk from Mugi River, we will encounter and cross another longer (40m) width traditional suspension bridge on Baliem River then trail to the village of Ibiroma.

Day 05: Ibiroma – Kurima - Jiwika

Include Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided en-route, and accommodation at the village's house or tent.

From Ibiroma village in the southern of Baliem Gorge, we hike 2,5 hours to Kurima. Visit traditional Dani villages on the way to Kurima. The local people's life and tradition remain unchanged here, and the sophisticated agriculture system has been practiced a long time ago. Arrive in Kurima by noon, we drive 1,5 hours to Jiwika in the north of the valley via the town of Wamena. In the afternoon visit the Dani villages near Jiwika, including the 250 years old mummy at Sumpaima village.

Day 06: Jiwika - Wamena

Include: Breakfast provided en-route, Lunch, and Dinner at Local Restaurant and accommodation at Hotel in Wamena.

Hike 1 hour up to lluerainma to see the Dani make salt by soaking the banana stalks into the brine's pool, dry, and carrying them home. Lunch today is at a local restaurant, the whole afternoon spend in the village of Anemoigi where we will see how the Dani make fire traditionally, and the traditional life of Dani. Late afternoon we drive 40 minutes back to Wamena.

Day 07: Wamena to Jayapura

Include Breakfast at Hotel, Lunch, Dinner at Local Restaurant, and Accommodation in Jayapura.

Flight back to Jayapura and upon arrival at Sentani Airport of Jayapura, we will provide a city sightseeing to see the fact to the evidence for much of the importance of this city during World War II. First visit Mc Arthur memorial, Cendrawasih Museum, Crocodile farm, as well as the remnant of the World War II, Hamadi beach and Hamadi market. Proceed to DOCK IX fishing houses, then have some leisure time or swim at Base G beach.

Day 08: Jayapura Departure

Include Breakfast at Hotel.

The morning will be free at your own leisure until the due time for departure we will provide a transfer to the airport for flight departure to another onward destination.
