Gili, in Sasak, the local language of western Lombok, means "island". These three are clustered together just off the northwest coast and offer coral gardens and clear waters. Restrictions have been implemented to control the impact of the tourist trade on these spectacular islands, but their development so far has changed them beyond compare. Gili Air can be reached in under fifteen minutes by outrigger boat from Bangsal harbor, near Pamenang.
