Highlight: Visit Sangiran Village, Visit Sangiran Museum, Seeing fossilized human bones Pithecanthropus Erectus, Java Man and Homo Sapiens
The excursion will deeply explore the anthropological center of Indonesia at the Museum of Sangiran where the fossilized human bones (Pithecanthropus erectus, Java Man and Homo sapiens), animal bones, ancient elephant bone (Stagodon and Mastodon) rhino, crocodile, deer, pigs, apes and molasses are kept.
In 1934, the anthropologist Gustav Heinrich Ralph von Koenig Wald started to examine the area. During excavations in the next years’ fossils of some of the first known human ancestors, Pithecanthropus erectus ("Java Man", now reclassified as part of the species Homo erectus), were found here. About 60 more human fossils, among them the enigmatic "Meganthropus", have since been found here.
Pick up service from your hotel, we will have about 60 60-minute drive to reach Sangiran Village and the Sangiran Museum. After about 2 hours’ exploration, we will return to Solo and directly to the Hotel
