Start your excursion with us by driving to the Rumah Adat or traditional house of Belitung, where you will learn about the wooden big house on stilts. Then, continue our journey to the Museum Tanjung Pandan, and have a photo stop at the Kaolin Lake; lake with very bright blue-colored water combined with the blue sky. Our final stop will be to souvenir and outlet shop of local foods; fish crackers, the Balacan chili sauce, and bitter honey.
Pick up service then we will start the excursion driving to the Rumah Adat or traditional house of Belitung where you will learn about the wooden big house on stilts. Actually this is the miniature of the Rumah Panggong or stilt house belongs to nobleman during the ancient time. At this traditional house you will learn the way of life of the ancient people and you will have a chance to rent the traditional costume for pictures taking.
The next visit will be Museum Tanjung Pandan, this museum was a Geological Museum which was built in 1962 and the building is an old house and during the Dutch occupation was used at the office of the NV. Billiton Maatschappij. At the beginning the museum was collecting the geology artifacts such as mineral stones, but later people collecting other historical things such as weapons, Chinese ceramic, and other tools which was daily used by the locals and later they were also collecting local ancient fauna.
After the museum we will make a photo stop at the Kaolin Lake, actually this is not a natural lake or an artificial lake, but this lake was kaolin mining after being abundant the land had been dredged and filled with earth water became a beautiful lake. The blue color of the lake water is very bright combined with the blue sky. Unlike the white crater that has a sulfur smell, Kaolin Lake has no smell of sulfur.
Our final stop will be going to the souvenir and outlet shop selling from local food such at fish crackers, the famous balacan chili sauce, bitter honey and also souvenirs of Belitung island.
