Package Itinerary

The highlight of this package is visiting Baliem Valley, where time seems to be turning back years ago. The people still live traditionally, leaving in a traditional hut, and some men still wear ‘Koteka’ (penis gourd). This is a standard package where our guests stay in a hotel overnight and have meals at the restaurants.

Day 01: Jayapura Arrival

Include: Dinner at a local restaurant, and Accommodation in Jayapura.

Upon arrival at Sentani Airport of Jayapura, we will provide a meeting service and then transfer to the Hotel. The remaining day is free at your leisure.

Day 02: Jayapura to Wamena

Include: Breakfast at Hotel, Lunch and Dinner at Local Restaurant, and Accommodation in Wamena.

Early in the morning, return to Sentani Airport for a one-hour domestic flight from Jayapura to Wamena, the interior of Papua. Flying past vertical mountain cliffs and misty cloud valleys, you will understand why the place remained isolated for so many centuries. Upon arrival at Wamena Airport of Baliem Valley, we will provide a meeting service and then transfer to the Hotel.

The exploration will start to get first impressions of another world at the Napua Hills with its panoramic view of the valley, Wesaput village, and its traditional hanging bridge, some Dani villages, and a traditional market.

Day 03: Jiwika Exploration

Include: Breakfast at Hotel, Lunch and Dinner at Local Restaurant, and Accommodation in Wamena.

A full-day tour to explore the Northern part of Baliem Valley to visit several villages of the Dani people, once fierce warriors, now gentle farmers, but they still wear ‘Koteka’ (penis gourd). First drives to Jiwika at the North of Baliem valley where a 250-year-old Mummy still exist and is being finely kept.

In the afternoon, the program will be trekking to the top of Mount Mili to notice how the Dani ladies traditionally produce salt using the soak of the banana stalks in the brine pool, dry and carry them home.

Day 04: Wamena to Jayapura

Include Breakfast at the Hotel, Lunch, Dinner at Local restaurants, and Accommodation in Jayapura.

Flight back to Jayapura and upon arrival at Sentani Airport of Jayapura, we will provide a city sightseeing to see the facts the evidence for much of the importance of this city during World War II. First visit Mc Arthur memorial, Cendrawasih Museum, Crocodile farm, as well as the remnant of World War II, Hamadi beach, and Hamadi market. Proceed to DOCK IX fishing houses, then have some leisure time or swim at Base G beach.

Day 05: Jayapura Departure

Include: Breakfast at the Hotel.

The morning will be free at your own leisure until the due time for departure. We will provide a transfer to the airport for the flight departure to another onward destination.
