Kelimutu Package Tour

The highlight of this package is seeing the incredible three-color lakes Kelimutu, the lakes have continuously changed their colors over the years. To complete the package, we will also visit Moni village, Kowanara village, and Maumere. This trip is made for embarkation and disembarkation through Maumere.

Day 1: Arrival in Maumere

Include: Dinner and Accommodation in Maumere.

Upon arrival at Waioti Airport of Maumere, we will provide a meeting service and then transfer to the hotel. The remaining day is free at your leisure to explore the city of Maumere.

Day 2: Kelimutu Excursion

Include: Breakfast at the hotel, Lunch at a Local Restaurant, Dinner, and Accommodation in Maumere.

It will be very early in the morning, leaving the hotel at 3.30 AM, driving up to Kelimutu volcano (108 km by car) to see the three colored lakes. Upon walking 1.5 km and then 127 steps to the top, view Kelimutu's green, blue, and black lakes.

A Dutch Geologist discovered Kelimutu in 1914; at the time, the lakes were red and white. Descend to Moni village to view beautiful hand-woven clothes and to visit Kowanara village, famous for its traditional Lusitanian houses. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Wolowaru. After lunch, continue to Wolosoko - a village perched on a hill overlooking the main road. Proceed to Maumere with several stops made according to local happenings.

Day 3: Maumere

Include: Breakfast at the hotel, Lunch at a Local Restaurant, Dinner, and Accommodation in Maumere.

It will be a full-day excursion to see Maumere and its surroundings, to visit Wuring village to see the houses built on stilts over the sea. Next, drive up to Ledalero - a major Catholic Seminary - to visit the museum with various collections of local royal families' old portraits, antique hand-woven clothes, seashell fossils, etc. Proceed to Sikka village - a center of "Ikat" weaving to see the traditional weaving process and an old church built in the 16th Century.

Day 4: Maumere Departure

Include: Breakfast at the Hotel.

Morning will be free at your own leisure, until the due time for departure, we will provide a transfer to the airport for the flight departure to other onward destinations.
