The Island is famous for its Komodo Dragons, called "ora” by the local people. Komodo is a small island of two hundred and eighty square kilometers, located between Sumbawa and Flores. Komodo Island is now a nature reserve, home to several rare bird species, deer, and wild pigs. This trip is made for embarkation and disembarkation through Labuan Bajo.
Day 1: Arrival Labuan Bajo ( FLORES ISLAND )
Include: Lunch and Dinner at a Local Restaurant and Accommodation in Labuan Bajo.
Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo – West Flores, our guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel. Labuanbajo is a little town inhabited by fishermen, lies at the extreme western part of Flores. The town serves as a jumping-off point for the trip to Komodo and the nearby islands.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, then we will visit Batu Cermin Cave, 5 km away from the town. The cave is 75 by 5 m large, and contains stalactites and stalagmites.
Day 2: Labuan Bajo - Komodo or Rinca - Labuan Bajo
Include: Breakfast at the Hotel, Lunch on board the boat, Dinner at a Local Restaurant, and accommodation in Labuan Bajo.
After breakfast at 06.00 AM, cruise to Komodo Island for about 3 hours by a local wooden boat passing several small islands. Upon arrival in Komodo Island, walk for 1.5 miles to Banugulung to see the activities of the giant Monitor Lizard "Komodo Dragon" which was scientifically described in 1912 as VARANUS KOMODOENSIS, which is up to 3 m long and about 150 kg, weight.
The total number of these lizards is estimated at 3.500 - 5.000 living in Komodo, Padar, and Rinca Island.
Return to the base and an opportunity to swim or snorkel on clean and white sandy beaches of Pantai Merah (Pink Beach), which is also considered the best spot for underwater life and corals (snorkel equipment is not supplied). Rinca is considered closer to Labuan Bajo and has a higher possibility of seeing the Komodo dragon. If the tour goes to Rinca, there is no pink beach. Lunch will be served on the boat.
We will do boating back to Labuan Bajo and then go to the city for overnight accommodation.
Day 3: Labuan Bajo Departure
Include: Breakfast at the Hotel.
Morning will be free at your leisure, until the due time for departure, we will provide a transfer to the airport for flight departure to other onward destinations.
